Lucy is tired of staring at the back of Ricky's newspaper every morning and barely getting two words out of him before he dashes off to work. Ethel suggests trying book-of-the-week author Dr. Humphries' advice in winning back Ricky's attention. It only takes one easy step...or two...or three.

Step One: Become Glamorous

Lucy is indignant when Dr. Humphries' book places the blame on her. Why wouldn't Ricky prefer to look at the paper instead of his wife when she's a mess of wrinkled pajamas and curlers? The doctor suggests a more glamorous approach to make her husband "not only want to pay attention to you over breakfast, but he won't even want to leave for the office!"

The next morning, Lucy dons a shimmering floor-length dress and sweeps into the kitchen where Ricky is already studying his paper. She tries everything to lure him away.
