Video pinball games are a small, but vibrant, sub-genre in the world of videogaming. All the way back to the 8-bit computer classic, Bill Budge's Pinball Construction Set, gamers have sought out both the best simulations of classic real-word pinball tables, along with virtual pinball layouts of all shapes and sizes.
Recently, some excellent silver ball action has found its way to the PlayStation Network. The brilliant Zen Pinball for the PS3 brings the old arcade game into the 21st Century with great table designs that shine in HD. Owners of the PSP aren't left out either, as two excellent pinball table collections are available at the PSN's PlayStation Store.
A Collection of Classic Gottlieb Pinball Tables
Pinball Hall of Fame (Gottlieb Edition) has been out in different formats for years, and has recently become available as a downloadable game for the PSP. Centered around an old arcade with all its associated sights and sounds, Pinball Hall of Fame, developed by Crave Entertainment, features 11 classic tables from 1937's poker-like Play Boy, all the way to 1995's bowling-themed, Strikes N' Spares.
