Most tournaments share the same aspects; each player pays a buy-in fee and, in return, receives an equal amount of chips. Play goes on until all but one player has been eliminated. Tournaments can either be decided by winner take all or the top three players (divided by percentage depending on their position).
Single and Multi-table Tournaments
In single-table tournaments, play starts once the table has been filled (known as fill and go tournaments). Players are able to leave the table before play starts without penalty, but there are no breaks in-between and they would have to forfeit their buy-in fee if they leave once play commences. Seating position is optional, as long as it's available.
